Make Use of Checklists

If you make a to-do list, you will be reminded of your priorities, and it can help you manage your time well. You can also make a distraction list, which will remind you of things you can probably hold off until your to-do list for the day is completely checked off.

Work in Sprints

When it comes to working, you can decide the lengths of time you will work uninterrupted. If your attention span allows, work for an hour and then take a short break. Otherwise, work in increments of 30 or 40 minutes. Don’t use your phone during this time, and use the short break for snacking, walking around, or using your phone.

Avoid Burnout

Burnout is real, and we often forget that just because we’re working longer hours doesn’t mean we’re being productive. Once you start managing your time well, you will realize that it was burnout due to overworking that was stopping you from being productive in a short amount of time. You can avoid burnout by stepping away from your stressful tasks and relaxing more.

Start your day with as little stress as possible. Do short, easily manageable tasks that require little to no time, so you have easy wins within the first few hours of the day. This can be making your bed or cooking a healthy breakfast that makes you feel good.

Don’t respond to emails and messages as soon as you wake up. Get yourself in the right headspace, so you have the energy to increase your productivity and complete your tasks for the day.
